Denise Rieniets has been the principal solicitor in her firm Denise M Rieniets & Associates since 2001, practicing in Adelaide in the areas of Family Law and Youth Court Care and Protection. She was an investigating solicitor on the South Australian State Enquiry into Child Sexual Abuse of Children in State Care and on the Northern Territory Enquiry into the State Child Protection Services. Prior to studying Law, she was a secondary teacher. She is the mother of four and a grandmother of two (so far) and is hopeful that the world will be a better place in the future for those children through the skill building and acknowledgement that they have the ability to bring about peace and make a real difference.
Denise is the inaugural chair of the board of Kids Thrive, and is a passionate supporter of the work they do with children from all backgrounds to bring joy and a sense of belonging, security and support within their communities and their schools. She believes that empowering children to have the confidence to make decisions about the shape, colour and context of their communities is the way to bring about harmony in our world.
