To kick off Children’s Week 2018, Kids Thrive is bringing together kids from across Victoria with creative facilitators to develop Kids Manifesto: Calling out a vision for the future they want to see.
At 2 pm on Monday 22 October, these creative visionaries will present their manifesto to policymakers, community leaders, family and friends, and challenge us all to work with them to make this vision a reality beyond Children’s Week.
Children’s Week celebrates children’s needs and achievements each year with focus on a theme. The theme this year is:
‘Children’s views and opinions are respected. They have the right to express those views freely in all matters affecting the child and the right to be heard.’ United Nations Conventions for the Rights of the Child, Article 12
‘Kids Manifesto’ features children from Altona North Primary School, Benalla P-12 College, Northern Bay College, Geelong and is generously supported by Arts Centre Melbourne and Newsboys Foundation to celebrate its 125th year.
The event will be held at Arts Centre Melbourne, The Pavilion, 100 St Kilda Rd, Melbourne 3002.
